ICET-2008 NOTIFICATION
Integrated Common Entrance Test for Admission into M.B.A. and M.C.A. courses of all Universities in Andhra Pradesh and their affiliated colleges (Being conducted on behalf of APSCHE) Applications are invited for appearing at the Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) for admission into M.B.A. and M.C.A. courses (full time/part-time/evening/distance mode) at the following Universities in the State of Andhra Pradesh including their affiliated colleges for the academic year 2008-2009 to be conducted by Osmania University, Hyderabad (as per G.O.Ms.No. 25, dt: 19.03.2004 & G.O.Ms.No.108 dated 30-7-2005 of Higher Education Department and its amendment)

ICET Eligibility Criteria
a) The candidates should be Indian Nationals and should satisfy local/non-local status requirements laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions(Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974 as amended upto date (as per G.O.Ms.No. 25, dt: 19.03.2004 & G.O.Ms.No.108, Higher Education Department dated 30-7-2005 and its amendments).
b) The candidates other than Indian Nationals should satisfy the rules of the Universities concerned
c) A pass (or) appearance at the final year examination’s of Bachelor’s Degree (Except BOL and BFA) of any University in Andhra Pradesh or Any other University Recognized as equivalent thereto.
d) The candidate seeking admission into MBA course should have passed a Bachelor’s Degree Examination of not less than three years duration from any recognized University or equivalent thereof besides passing SSC or equivalent examination with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
e) The candidate seeking admission into MCA course should have passed a Bachelor’s Degree Examination of not less than three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level (or) should have passed Bachelor’s Degree Examination of not less than 3 years duration in any discipline with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
f) The candidates who are appearing for the final year degree examination shall also be eligible to appear for ICET-2008
g) Admission into any college depends on its Recognition/Affiliation by the Statutory Bodies.
h) Qualifying marks in ICET-2008 is 25% and no minimum marks are prescribed for SC/ST candidates.
Mere qualification in the entrance test does not entitle a candidate to have been admitted into MBA/MCA course unless the candidate:
i) appears before the ‘on-line counseling’ at any of the Counseling Centres as notified
ii) applies in response to the admission notification issued by the authority concerned (for distance mode)
iii) satisfies all the eligibility conditions of admission stipulated by the authority concerned

Prescribed application form for the entrance test together with instructions booklet can be obtained in person on payment of Rs.250/- in cash at
(i) all the Head Post Offices in A.P.,
(ii) all the Post Offices located on the University campuses, and (iii) the e-seva centres in Andhra Pradesh.
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS
Duly filled-in application forms (placed in the envelope supplied) may be submitted along with relevant documents by paying postal charges through the Head Post Offices to

Incomplete application forms and application forms received after the specified date and time will summarily be rejected.

Applications also can be submitted online. However, a copy of the application downloaded along with passport size photograph and D.D. for Rs. 250/- drawn in favour of "The Secretary, APSCHE", payable at Hyderabad is to be sent to the Convener, ICET-2008.

The programme aims at moulding students into effective managers by providing them with courses reinforced with multi-faceted inputs of management education using state-of-the-art methods of training and active industry interface.
Selection Procedure
Candidates aspiring to join the MBA programme are required to appear for a state-wide Common Entrance Test [ICET], which evaluates them on the basis of their analytical, quantitative and verbal skills. The admission is offered only to the top rankers amongst the 1,00,000 odd candidates. The programme has been attracting, young and bright students of the state from varied academic streams like Engineering,
Commerce, Mathematical, Biological Sciences and Humanities.
Course Structure & Evaluation
The curriculum has been structured after an exhaustive analysis by experts from various academic and industrial fields. Each student majors in any two of the four fundamental areas viz., Finance, Human Resources Management, Marketing and Information Systems. Each specialised area has four elective papers.
Examinations are conducted at the end of each semester to assess the students’ understanding in what has been taught and learnt during that particular semester period. A comprehensive viva-voce is conducted, at the end of each year.
Summer Project
As an integral part of the curriculum, every student takes up work on a project in an organisation with a view to facilitate complimentary learning and greater understanding of real life organisational situations. The duration of the training ranges from 6-8 weeks. The project guides from among the faculty and provide necessary guidance to the students. The projects are evaluated at the end of the fourth semester by a panel of external, internal and corporate examiners on the basis of a report, a presentation and a viva-voce.

The experience and knowledge that they share with the students provide a perfect supplement to the conventional academic education that the university provides.

Our programme aims at achieving holistic personality development. Keeping this in view, a day-long workshop on enhancing creativity and problem solving was conducted by Prof. B. Bowonder, Dean, Administrative Staff College of India (ASCI).
Co-Curricular Activities
The students participate in a variety of co-curricular activities including paper presentations, group discussions, management games and business quizzes.

Synopsis :-
At the center of the film are two characters Chandu (Vivek Oberoi) and Mallik (Ajay Devgan).
Chandu aka Chandrakant is a street pauper who lives in a dingy and congested kholi somewhere in the slums of Mumbai. And Mallik, on the other hand, works as a trusted henchman of a Mumbai underworld don. He is a man hardened by the scourge of harsh realities. Chandu’s life undergoes a drastic change after Mallik recruits him to look after his nefarious deals. With the money earned from crime Chandu moves from his claustrophobic shanty into an opulent and spacious bungalow along with his mother (Seema Biswas).
Soon Chandu becomes Mallik’s trusted and favorite sidekick. Together they start a company to further extend their activities and excel in the underworld. Both of them are deadly, fearless and completely callous about death. They wouldn’t blink an eye before shooting their enemies point blank. Things hot up after the relentless Mumbai cop Srinivasan (Mohanlal) gets on their trail. As a result the duo shifts their base to Hong Kong and move there with their ladyloves (played by Manisha Koirala and Antara Mali respectively). They continue to operate their company from afar through their henchmen. An unexpected turn comes in the story after a misunderstanding crop up between Mallik and Chandu and turns them into arch foes. Each one begins to stalk the other for his life. That’s when the dead bodies begin piling up. Meanwhile Chandu shifts his base to Nairobi. Mallik’s men chase him there to his hideout in a bid to kill him. But Chandu somehow survives the attack. Now he stalks Mallik!
What happens next? Who will win and survive this bloody battle – Chandu or Mallik? Will police inspector Srinivasan be able to put an end to the shady activities of company?

My ideal, indeed, can be put into a few words, and that is to preach unto mankind their divinity, and how to make it manifest in every movement of life.
Religion is the manifestation of the divinity already in man.
Religion is the idea which is raising the brute unto man, and man unto God.
The secret of religion lies not in theories but in practice. To be good and do good - that is the whole of religion.
Man is higher than all animals, than all angels; none is greater than man.
One may gain political and social independence, but if one is a slave to his passions and desires, one cannot feel the pure joy of real freedom.
Look at the wall. Did the wall ever tell a lie? It is always the wall. Man tells a lie and becomes a god, too.
After so much austerity, I have understood this as the real truth - God is present in every jiva; there is no other God besides that. 'Who serves jiva, serves God indeed.'
Cut out the word help from your mind. You cannot help; it is blasphemy! You worship. When you give a morsel of food to a dog, you worship the dog as God. He is all, and is in all.
Unselfishness is God. One may live on a throne, in a palace, and be perfectly unselfish; and then he is in God. Another may live in a hut and wear rags, and have nothing in the world; yet if he is selfish, he is intensely merged in the world.
All nations have attained greatness by paying proper respect to women. That country and that nation which do not respect women have never become great, nor will ever be in future.
With five hundred men, ... the conquest of India might take fifty years: with as many women, not more than a few weeks.
Religion and religion alone is the life of India, and when that goes, India will die, in spite of politics, in spite of social reforms, in spite of Kubera's wealth poured upon the head of every one of her children.
Before flooding India with socialistic or political ideas, first deluge the land with spiritual ideas.
We want to lead mankind to the place where there is neither the Vedas, nor the Bible, nor the Koran; yet this has to be done by harmonizing the Vedas, the Bible, and the Koran.
Mankind ought to be taught that religions are but the varied expressions of THE RELIGION, which is Oneness, so that each may choose the path that suits him best.
Who will give the world light? Sacrifice in the past has been the Law, it will be, alas, for ages to come. The earth's bravest and best will have to sacrifice themselves for the good of many, for the welfare of all.
Truth, purity, and unselfishness - whenever these are present, there is no power below or above the sun to crush the possessor thereof. Equipped with these, one individual is able to face the whole universe in opposition.
Everything can be sacrificed for truth, but truth cannot be sacrificed for anything.
The highest ideal is eternal and entire self-abnegation, where there is no 'I', but is Thou'.
All expansion is life, all contraction is death.
All love is expansion, all selfishness is contraction. Love is therefore the only law of life. He who loves lives, he who is selfish is dying. Therefore love for love's sake, because it is law of life, just as you breathe to live.
The national ideals of India are Renunciation and Service. Intensity her in those channels, and the rest will take care of itself.
Good motives, sincerity, and infinite love can conquer the world. One single soul possessed of these virtues can destroy the dark designs of millions of hypocrites and brutes.
Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life - think of it, dream of it, live on idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone. This is the way to success.
